Ebony Gemini is one of the Gemini twins initially designed by

"Zodiac ponies are special ponies whose destines are determined before they are even born; blessed by the very stars, their chosen star-sign will grant them abilities and traits normal ponies otherwise do not have. They are not born knowing their gifts, but as they age and gain their cutie marks, their destinies begin to unravel and their paths become clearer.

The rulers of the Zodiac ponies are the Gemini twins; which is ironic, since they are the youngest and arguably the most inexperienced and naive. Zodiac ponies can surface anywhere in Equestria, but they will always eventually meet in one place. Every ten generations or so will breed a Zodiac pony. Who and where they are is never known until it happens. The stars can be fickle, and nobody can see potential that has not even been thought of yet.

Unlike their peers in many ways, many Zodiac ponies face prejudice, growing up. They are often either outcasts or beloved in their communities, very rarely able to simply blend in and be part of everyday life.

Their destinies hold promises of adventures and danger; what paths each pony chooses once they realize their fates is up to them, and it is up to the rulers of the Zodiac ponies to help guide them toward a more favorable, righteous way."
